Junior & Senior Preschool Programs
Our Junior and Senior Programs at Tom Thumb Preschool are aimed at developing the social and emotional skills needed for “school success”. One often hears “Kindergarten Readiness” as a goal for preschoolers. Tom Thumb raises the bar to “lifetime skills”. These skills are essential for grade school through college.
Our preschool is unique with original programs. We continuously assess and improve our programs to adjust and address new education findings, our present American culture and current technologically advances and changes in our society. Each of our programs is geared to a specific age group and keeping the interest of the child during the school sessions.
An important part of our job is to ensure our students are excited about learning every day and willing to participate in our program to have fun and rewarding experiences. Tom Thumb’s programs and our method The Power of Play are very successful, time tested, extremely well-planned-out to accentuate child development and have been refined continuously over the years.
For over 50 years, we have produced confident graduates with an ongoing interest to learn, think learning is a fun experience and have grown socially, physically, and intellectually.

Finding children’s strengths and emphasizing them is a primary goal for us. Students recognizing what they are good at doing and increase knowledge around their strength allows them to become self-invested. Our teachers assess children and create a plan to take them a step further and to encourage them on a path of learning. Our staff go to great lengths to help us develop the preschool programs with details that will encourage and stimulate the natural curiosity of young minds and exploration. It’s important for children to have a free-choice time where they choose playmates, activities and make decision about the objects in play or items to be included in a drawing.
Tom Thumb uses The Power of Play as an important method to achieve “a Fun Learning Experience”. Play is the overarching mechanism to explore, discover and learn. Simply it’s how children learn and have fun.

Two Sessions to Choose from:
- 2:15 PM Dismissal Program
- 3:15 PM Dismissal Program
Our Enrichment Program is Integrated at No Cost
Children attend preschool in the morning and have lunch brought from home. In the afternoon, our enrichment program is group-oriented as children often play and do activities with a partner or a small group. Cooperation is encouraged. Our school activities are planned, so that children may choose to participate in different activities. They may take advantage of our gym, stage, and playgrounds. Specialists are brought in to enhance the educational experience.
Each new academic school year we created our programs to incorporate a mix of specialists that children enjoy and learn. Some of the specialists we have engaged in the past include:
- Science lesson
- Music
- Art
- Dance
- Fun Gym
- Yoga
- Drumming
- Piano keyboard
- Math in the Rainbow Room
- Science in the Rainbow Room
