Tom Thumb Campus -- Our campus was designed specially to meet the needs of young children.
Tom Thumb was founded in September 1968. Our specially
designed main Tom Thumb Facility was completed in September
1973 and has been continually upgraded. Our outside fenced playgrounds, 6 classrooms, theater stage, gymnasium and library
were completed renovated 1993.
Every year Nancy Brophy personally initiates and manages
key projects to improved the Tom Thumb Facilities to:
In addition, our new toddler school facility, Thumbelina, is design specifically for 2 year olds for their first school experience and was completed in 2010.
Our Tom Thumb Facilities provide more space than is required for preschools as stated by
the New York State Department of Health and Safety.
Each classroom contains an art area, library, block corner, large play area, housekeeping corner, a sink,
and two toilets. All classrooms also contain a deck house. The classrooms have all been designed to provide
a warm, safe, stimulating environment in which to learn.
Tom Thumb Preschool is monitored by video cameras for hallways, classrooms and doorways. In each classroom door has installed a one way mirror so that parents may view their children "in action" without disturbing the class.
Parents never need an appointment to observe their children - they are always welcome.
